GÜNTER HORN (*1964 Schweinfurt, Germany) Guitarist, Composer
Günter Horn studied guitar at the Berufsfachschule für Musik, Bad Königshofen, with Johannes Tappert and at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin with Prof. Martin Rennert.
Since 1990 he has been performing classical and contemporary music with the Duo Stringendo and the Prisma Ensemble on a regular basis. From the year 2001 on strong commitment to experimental music, improvisation and jazz. Workshop with Evan Parker at the Total Music Meeting in Berlin. Launching of the ensemble beyond. Experiments in free improvisation.
In 2006 guitar solo program „Proper Music“ and CD release.
In 2012 guitar solo program „Spirituals“
He wrote a wide variety of music for guitar and electric guitar solo. Another part of his work focuses on pieces for guitar plus various instruments.
Compositions including the accordion have been published by Edition Wunn. His music is being broadcasted frequently within the program Concerto bavarese on the radio station Bayerischer Rundfunk.
