Neben Instrumentalwerken und Kompositionen mit Live-Elektronik auch
Realtime-Kompositionen, Improvisationskonzepte, Klanginstallationen,
Composition Library for Max“ für algorithmische Komposition
in Echtzeit (begonnen am 1992 am IRCAM in Paris). Seit 1996 entwickelt

Since
1992, eRikm has extended the field of artistic experimentation
on the international scene.
Maintaining a constant fusion between thought, instinct and sensitivity,
he pursues a simultaneity of practices and addresses the interplay
between various compositional modes, relating to and using all
languages.
From his early experience as a guitarist through to his later
visual work, he is a maverick genre-bender who breaks down anyone’s
attempts to conveniently classify him. Quickly recognised as a
virtuoso turntablist and sound artist (1996), eRikm has made a
longlife habit of crossing all territories and « world-systems
» deemed “independent”, “institutional”.
At the same time (1997), he has developed an open and aspirational
approach toward the technological media, both as a means of development
for a new economic model and as an instrument for creation, production
and diffusion. He deals with sounds like living organisms, constantly
in flux, always open to the risk of accident or delight/unisson.
As he plays with all these contradictions in his improvisations,
his performance reaches new heights of intensity, trading off
both understanding and sensation, seriousness and farce, anticipation
and instinct.
His work references both the intimate and political, both popular
and high culture, but without demonstration. Rather he creates
a short-circuit connection between points with his live generated
(and degenerated) material – from noise to reference –
presenting multiple ways to capture each moment of the present
in clear focus.
Throughout his career, collaborations have naturally occurred
with his audiences and contemporaries, most notably: Luc Ferrari,
Christian Marclay, Akosh S., Mathilde Monnier, Bernard Stiegler,
FM Einheit… The kind of coincidences which have confirmed
his instinctive search for transmutation, and to play on several
levels.
Since 1997, on his own or with collaborators, eRikm has toured
(with 5-7 on-tour projects to date), or created by request specific
pieces, both transversal or for fixed spaces (record labels, radio,
festivals, art centres…)
In the meanwhile, each time building on what has emerged before,
the most personal fragments from his work (notably from his early
artworks in photography, drawings, visual installations and video)
continue to substantiate a singular kaleidoscopic vision. Ultimately,
eRikm’s research resonates through all of his work, bordering
scientific discovery and a poetic curiosity of the world.
eRikm is a Marseille based artist (Friche Belle de Mai)

Geboren
1958 in Fröndenberg (Deutschland).
(u.a. Trio Dario, Menano Quartett, NOVA Ensemble Wuppertal, Thürmchen
Ensemble Köln). Dabei war er regelmässig an Urauführungen
beteiligt.
Neben anderen langjährigen Ensemble-Kollaborationen wie u.a.
Wien – Jakober’s Komposition dort. Seine Diskographie
umfasst gegenwärtig ca. 80 Tonträgerveröffentlichungen.
Yiannis
Tsirikoglou is a composer, performer and a sound artist born in
1981 in Larissa, Greece. In 2000 he moved to Thessaloniki (Greece)
where he studied Civil Engineering. In 2009 he attended the Sonology
course at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag, Netherlands and
he has recently finished the Sonology Master studies at the same
school with teachers like Kees Tazelaar, Paul Berg, Richard Barrett,
Joel Ryan and Johan van Kreij, dealing with subjects including
algorithmic synthesis, sound sculpting using mathematical models
and spatial composition / synthesis techniques.
As a member of the Thessaloniki based trio Eventless Plot, he
has released several tracks and albums like the critically acclaimed
Ikon cd on Granny records (2009) , Recon which is released from
Thanos Chrysakis’ label Aural Terrains in July 2012, “points
of attraction” in Another Timbre’s Anonymous Zone
and the new cd Structures on Creative Sources. E. plot shared
the stage with artists like Giuseppe Ielasi, Angel, Vladislav
Delay [Synch festival 2008, Knot gallery 2011 (Athens),O’
gallery(Milan) and many more].
He is also participating in the digital sound duo Duel Protocol
with Auris Bavarskis, making sound installations and performances
using new technologies and unconventional ways (light feedback
systems, typing processes) presented in venues and festivals like
Worm(Rotterdam), FIBER Festival(Amsterdam) and Jauna Muzika Festival(Vilnius-Lithuania).
Yiannis is working also as a composer / sound designer on film,
dance and art installations. In 2011 he made the soundtrack for
the animation .::. .::. .::. [DUST], a collaboration with visual
artist Mariska de Groot originally made for 360 panoramic cinema
and 6 loudspeakers presented at Oddstream Festival 2011(Nijmegen,Netherlands),
nominated for punto y raya festival (Reina Sofía ,Madrid)
competition and presented in the international Fest of Contemporary
animation & media-art LINOLEUM (Moscow). .::. .::. .::. [DUST]
soundtrack was released from More Mars label in a special 3’’
cd edition. Recently he created music and sound for the dance
piece Mirage with the choreographer Loreta Juodkaite and source_language
with Ivan Perez for the Korzo theater in Den Haag.
Active in the free impro scene, he lately attended workshops by
Peter Evans, Evan Parker and Sarah Nicolls between others, collaborated
with many musicians and participated in the Sonology Electroacoustic
Ensemble, organized by Richard Barrett. In December 2012 he participated
at Quadrophonia#2.0 (International Festival Of Electroacoustic
Surround Sound) in Nürnberg improvising with Andre Bartetzki,
Lawrence Casserley, Michael Ammann, Christopher Haworth. For his
multichannel compositions as well as his live performances he
is building his own Max/Msp programs where mathematical models
(as trajectories) and trackpad information are used (together
with special mapping systems) to control several sound parameters
and spatial position of sounds at the same time. His goal is to
create immersive new forms of sound with “natural”
or complex development in time and space while preserving an intuitive
real - time control.
Beeinflusst
Rolle.
